The Galileo DB-80CC transforms the easy to use and affordable Dobsonian telescope design into a portable, light-weight system you can take anywhere. The DB-80CC features a compact cherry wood finish base with quick release optical tube clamp for easy adjustment of the focus tube. The 80MM Primary mirror delivers the light gathering ability of a full size Reflector telescope, but is very portable. The Astroscopic eye piece is also a cut above the standard 1.25” eyepieces normally provided in an scope in this range. Color corrected and clear to edge optical design insures your Astroscopic eyepieces will deliver incredibly clear, crisp images. The Marseye Electronic finder makes locating astronomical objects very easy. Additionally, the DB-80CC includes Galileo’s newest 1.8X Astroscopic Barlow lens that will increase the power of the eyepieces without affecting the image quality. The over all size of the DB-80CC, standing just over 2ft. and 1ft. diameter base, makes it perfect for almost any table or stand. Never before has Galileo offered a telescope with these capabilities in such a compact size.
The Galileo DB-80CC optical tube assembly features a 500mm focal length. The Primary mirror is a 80mm heavy duty mirror cell with push / pull collimation screws. The primary mirror is aluminized with Silicon Monoxide Quartz overcoat providing 92% reflectivity and a resolving power of .86 arc seconds. The optical tube assembly is diffraction limited at λ4 (1/4 wave in Sodium light). The focuser is a 1¼″ format metal helical rack and pinion focuser. The finderscope is Galileo's Mars' Eye electronic Finderscope which helps by getting the observer behind the telescope without losing the surrounding field of view when targeting objects. Included with the DB-80CC are a 1¼″ 25mm, 3 element, fully color corrected, modified Rank Kasspheric eyepiece with an apparent field of view of 52°, a 1¼″ 6.8mm to 16mm 4 element Zoom eyepiece with an apparent field of view of 42° and a 1.8x Barlow.
