Introducing the new Galileo CT-1380 catadioptric reflector telescope.  The CT-1380 is Galileo's most recent addition to our ever growing line of reflector telescopes and was developed exclusively for Costco.com 

It sets new standards in optical performance with the new, larger 1260MM X 120MM Optical Tube Assembly, providing increased light gathering ability and clarity. 

Also included is our Quick Release cradle assembly mounted on our newly modified Heavy Duty Tripod.  Now, even a telescope of this size can be easily operated with much greater stability. Slow motion control knobs make tracking objects very easy in both vertical and horizontal axis. 

The telescope includes Galileo’s Super Glide, Altitude / Azimuth Mount. The mount easily attaches to the new heavy duty pre-assembled metal tripod by a simple connecting knob.  Additionally, the tripod features rubber feet and our Quick Release accessory tray providing storage space for the two 1¼″ eyepieces.  

The Super Glide mount features counter balance weights to insure easy Up / Down & Left / Right tracking.

Unique to any telescope at this level is the large 2″ metal Helical Rack & Pinion focus tube.  The 1¼″ adapter is inserted upon arrival for use with the two professional size 1¼ eyepieces, also included.   

The bonus 32MM / 2 inch eyepiece provides a brighter, wider viewing field.  As bright and clear as the 1 ¼ “professional sized eyepieces will prove to be, the 2 inch eyepiece will enhance your viewing to higher standards.  It is like comparing a 52” inch T V to a normal 25” TV.  Both images are great, but the larger format brings you to the next level of viewing. 

The Galileo CT-1380 catadioptric design provides a 1260MM focal length (catadioptric correcting lens is fully multi-coated). Unlike other Catadioptric telescope designs, Maksutov Cassegrain or Schmidt Cassegrain, Galileo places the correcting lens inside the CT-1380’s focuser allowing a secondary mirror that is smaller, increasing resolution & brightness by getting more light & information to the eyepiece. “

The Primary mirror is a 120MM heavy duty mirror cell with collimation screws. The primary mirror is aluminized with Silicon Monoxide Quartz overcoat providing 92% reflectivity for maximum image quality. The optical tube assembly is diffraction limited assuring distortion free viewing. 

The finder scope is Galileo's Mars Eye electronic finder which makes locating objects easy by positioning the observer behind the telescope.  This prevents the user from losing the surrounding reference points when targeting objects.

In addition to the Bonus 2 inch 32MM eyepiece,  the Galileo CT-1380 also includes an 1¼″ 20mm eyepiece (52° apparent field of view) and also a 6MM  1¼ eyepiece.
